My sister gave me a whole box of board books. She didn't specifically ask but I'm sure that she will want them back, as she keeps hinting about having a garage sale next year. So I know that I will never remember which ones are hers. Does anyone have an idea for how I can mark these books without destorying them so that she gets top dollar for them at her garage sale?

Re: Marking books
I would just make a list of the book titles.
I have marked things with a dot of nail polish or a dot of marker in a certain spot when I did not want to write out DD's name. That might work for you - maybe a dot on the spine or on the inside of the cover?
I like the list idea. That way I will know that I have given her all of them back and if any are missing so I can pay her for them. (Yes, my sister is like that.)
