Aaron is only 4 days old, so I know that sleeping all day is normal. I wake him to feed/change him and then he usually goes right back to sleep. Last night was a bad one. I got up at 1:00 with him to change/feed, and then put him back in the bassinet in our room. He wimpered, suckled, and whined until about 2:30 when DH got up and fed him again. He then came back to the bassinet and continued whining, all out crying, and suckling. At 4:00 I got back up and fed him again. When I brought him back in he cried for about 15 minutes until DH gave up and brought him in the living room and put him in his My Little Lamb seat....and he slept until 8:00 this morning. I have a feeling he really hates the bassinet. Maybe it's not comfortable for him, or maybe he just likes his lamb seat. Either way, I can't let him sleep in that all night can I? It just doesn't seem safe at all. I also can't keep putting him in the bassinet and having him up crying all night long. DH goes back to work tomorrow, so I'm concerned about how tonight will go.Where does your LO sleep?

Re: New Here..Have a question: Sleeping Arrangements
Tate sleeps next to our bed in this:

He sleeps 3-5 hours at a time at night, and my first DS slept great in it too. We also swaddle in a Miracle Blanket.
we try to keep our baby girl in her pack n play, but there's been a few nights i've caved and let her sleep in her rocker that vibrates and puts her right to sleep...i've heard/read/been told that for the first 3 months, let them sleep however they will sleep because they don't form habits anyways till after that...gl
Since K was born he has either slept in his RNP right beside my bed or literally on top of my chest. Those are the only two places he will sleep at night.
During the day he takes naps in his swing.
He wont sleep in his crib at all. Ive tried ....Ive come to conclusion that whatever works is the way to go.
The bassinet isn't cozy and warm and doesn't have the constant noise and movement like your uterus did. It sucks.
We have DS in bed with us. If the seat works for your baby, why not let him sleep there next to your bed? At this point, your main objective is to get as much sleep as possible, be it during the night or during the day. If you find a place that works for him and you, take advantage of it!
DS sleeps in his arms reach sleeper or (and more often) he sleeps beside me because we've both fallen asleep while nursing.
Isn't if funny to wake up with your boob hanging out and LO fast asleep? :-) Two nights in a row we've slept 5 hours straight. I would take any sleep you can get at this point. I know we might have to break a bad habit later on but he's only this way for a short time.. I will enjoy it. :-)
It does get better...that or we just get used to it! My LO has been sleeps on average 2 hours at a time. Naps are usually an hour. I think he has just started to make a change. He will sleep from 11-2 sometimes 3am.
