pg w/ diastasis?

With the girls, I ended up having diastasis on just the lower two abs. It has gone down considerably and has improved since having them...but...now that I'm pg again, will I show earlier?? I never had mine surgically corrected since we hoped for more children and the dr. advised to wait until we were totally done...

Anyone else ever been pg with diastasis? I know that most women tend to show earlier with their next pg, but given that I had twins and didn't really show until 16-17 weeks with a little bump, I am curious if I'm going to have a bump sooner than with the twins (even though it's a singleton)?

Thanks for any feedback!

  • You'll probably bump out sooner, but not bc of the separation. Be prepared for that to possibly pull apart further with this pregnancy, as well.

  • With C. & G. I didn't really show obviously until 17 weeks. I too was advised to wait to have my diastasis corrected until after we knew we were done having kids.

With A., I started showing around 14 weeks. Which is so weird, if you ask me! I obviously was smaller with his pregnancy, but I really thought I was *almost* the same size as with C. & G. This may be because of the 5 year gap between pregnancies?

3 1/2 weeks PP, I can't really tell if my diastasis is worse. I still have a baby bump, but let's hope it doesn't appear worse when all this fat goes away!

I'd love to get mine done, but insurance does not cover it on our plan. Plus, I want to avoid lifting a baby after an abdominal surgery. So I hope to get a tummy tuck in a few years.

I'll let you know how mine looks in a few weeks.
