2nd Trimester

HEAD ACHES?!

Okay ladies, so, I am 14 (almost fifteen) weeks and I am having terrible head aches.  I mean, they sweep right through the tylenol.  It hurts my head to even lay it on the pillow and it actually made me throw up yesterday.  Is anyone experiencing anything of the sort?  Please do let me know!  What can I do?!?!

Re: HEAD ACHES?!

  • Try an ice pack. On your forehead or the back of your neck and a dark, quiet room. I'm so sorry! If it makes you feel any better I got bad headaches from about week 13-16 and then gone! I haven't had one since... If it really won't go away, call your Dr.

  • I've had headaches for the past few days, but I'm not sure if it's pg related or from my nasty cold.  I do know that my sis-in-law (who's also pregnant) had migraines for a few weeks & then they suddenly stopped when she started her 5th month.  Hope yours go away soon!
  • I have also experienced really bad headaches.  It basically feels like someone is taking an axe right though my head.  The only thing that I have found that helps is sleep.

  • Terrible! Sometimes taking a tylenol with some sort of caffeinated drink helps. And laying down with my eyes closed helps too. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water.

  • i get headaches frequently (even before pregnancy), but i've only gotten one headache that's been so bad that it caused me to vomit. the only thing that made it better was a lot of sleep & as little noise & movement as possible. It's a miserable feeling & sorry u have to go thru it. My nurse practitioner also told me if it continues there is a pregnancy safe medication they can give you. (she didn't tell me the name of it tho, sorry)

  • I have been having these too, althought I haven't quite gotten sick from them yet. They feel like migranes thought and my Dr said that they can actually peak in the 2nd tri so be prepared! I got prescribed Fioricet for them, they told me they are completely safe for baby, but I will still only use them when I need to. Good Luck to you!

  • I was also getting headaches that would come on strong and last for 2 or 3 days.  I was going nuts.  A friend suggested one of those spa eye masks with gel in it that you can put in the fridge, that felt nice.  My husband would give me shoulder massages, and that helped a lot too.
