Quick question-it's not enough to make me call the midwives office, but I'm wondering if this is normal. I went jogging this afternoon, about 3 miles total. I have been exercising throughout the pregnancy with no problems; not straining myself or working too hard.
I noticed after I got home that I have a lingering soreness down there. Like a mild, sore, heaviness. Not a cramping or sharp pain, it's like my vagina (sorry, tmi;) just kind of aches. It's been going on a few hours.
I didn't feel that my run was anything out of the ordinary, I didn't fele overextended physically. Has anyone else experienced this? Do you have any idea what it might be, if anything?
Re: Soreness after Exercise-does anyone else experience this?
I am a daily exerciser too - mostly running, yoga & elliptical.
I have experienced soreness in mine too but never really made the connection between it & exercise. My sensations range from like what you describe - mild, sore, heaviness to occasional sharp, shooting cramps but the latter are rare & only last a second.
I am not too concerned about any of them because I remember having it with my first pregnancy. As you said probably not enough to call your midwife but defintely worth asking about next appointment! I am going to ask at mine too on Friday! Bet its all normal & fine
I am a previous long distance runner- pretty much stopped when I found out I was pregnant due to being so fricken tired I couldnt even think about it. I am kinda bummed I havent kept up- but- don't really want to start back up now!
I read an interview with Paula Radcliff a few months back- she has run through both her pregnancies. She recommended a maternity belt for support while running! Give it a shot, might help!
I was just saying to my DH that my entire pelvis feels sore after exercise. I was on the treadmill for 50 min today and yesterday....and holy canoli...my pelvis is sore!
Its just the softening cartiledge and ligaments from the pregnancy. I've found that if I rest for about 30 minutes it gets much better.
