Excema around the eyes

I had a patch of excema on my hand and it seems to have cleared up.  However, I have broken out literally in a ring around my eyes.  It gets red, sore, itchy and then dries up only to return again.  I haven't put much besides lotion on it because it is on my eyes.  Anyone have this and know what I can use?  I may go to the doctor to make sure it is what I think it since I only have had one patch of excema (also near my eye) when pregnant with DS...otherwise, I fortunately never have it.
Praying this little one sticks!

I have a patch on one eyelid that comes and goes. The dermatologist gave me some steroid cream for when it flares up, but I'm not sure it's safe to use while pregnant (this was before I was pg with DS, now I just deal with it).

You could maybe try a safe allergy med like Zyrtec or Claritin in case it is allergy related.

  • I have it on two fingers and now that I am pregnant I got a patch under my eyebrow over one eye. Very strange. I have cream from the derm I have put on it a few times as well as Aquaphor, which seems to help a lot. If it doesn't clear up after the cold weather passes and I have the baby if it doesn't clear up I will head back to the derm.

  • My excema is worse since being pregnant and I haven't really found too much to clear it up, but just putting ice on my eyes helps relieve some of the itchy/irritation and keeps me from rubbing them for a little bit.
  • I have a severe case of it - it covers both arms and my stomach.  I refuse to use any prescription creams, but I have found that Eucerin followed by Aveeno Eczema therapy really soothes it.

  • I've had excema problems around my eyes, it is the worst! My allergist suggested that it could be dust mights causing it. We got hypo allergenic mattress covers and pillow covers.  That has helped clear it up so much!
