1 cup white flour
1/2 cup salt
2 tablespoon cream of tartar
1 tablespoon oil
1 cup water
food coloring
Mix first 4 ingredients in a pan. Add water and mix well. Cook over
medium heat, stirring constantly, for 3 ? 5 minutes. Dough will become
difficult to stir and form a ?clump?. Remove from stove and knead for
5 minutes?add food coloring during kneading process. Play dough will
keep for a long time stored in a covered plastic container or plastic
sandwich bag.
I've scented it with cinnamon. You could also try vanilla or peppermint extract.
pour
stuff into baggie, zip up and knead 'till you have a dough, once you've
made stuff let it air dry for about 12 hours - smells so nice :-)
What we did was roll it out and used cookie cutters to make ornaments.
Tubtime Crayons
1 bar of ivory soap, grated 1/4 c really warm water 4-6 drops food coloring
mix water, soap, and food coloring, stir 'till it begins to stiffin, then remove and knead 'till consistency is smooth and thick
I
make sorta tootsie roll shapes, you could also use an ice tray or
whatever for the shape you want, cookie cuters, etc then place in the
freezer for about 10 min.
let them sit overnight to dry out or at least 'till they get kinda hard
Mix in large bowl. Play. Lia loves it. It turns out a nice consistency and we make it fun colors. We pull out cookie cutters and rolling pins and have lots of fun!
