Period after failed IVF?

I started my period last night and it has been very very light. Is this normal after a failed cycle? (tmi) It was red for a couple hours last night, then it stopped. I have been having some very light brown spotting ever since I woke up today. Ever since my ectopic in December my period has been thrown off. Usually it is 6-7 days and now it is just a few days of spotting. I am moving right into a FET so I'm nervous that I will have "old lining," if that makes sense. I spoke to a nurse a while ago who said that the meds can sometimes throw your period off, but I guess I just want some reasurance!! Thanks!

My cycles are always screwy after medicated cycles.  After IVF is was super heavy.  After IVF#2 is was very light.  I had the same concerns as you but my nurse said it's common and shouldn't affect the next cycle!  Good luck with your FET sweetie!

Thankfully, I haven't had an ectopic, so I could be a little different than you. But after my failed IVF, my period was very heavy and I was really crampy. If I remember correctly, it was heavy for 2-3 days, and lasted about a full 7 days...ugh. Talk about adding insult to injury...stupid IF.

Thanks. I guess I'm just nervous that this spotting isn't getting rid of my old lining and I don't want it to affect this coming cycle. I have an u/s on the 5th so I guess I'll find out then!

I spotted for like 6 days after my failed IVF cycle until it was full flow. It was like the AF from hell that wouldn't quit

My periods were always heavier after failed IVFs.  I hope everything is ok in there and best of luck for your upcoming FET!

Sorry, not sure if I am allowed to post here or not since I have not been part of the bump community for more than 6 months.  I just had my first failed IVF on 3/11 and I had the same type of period.  I am typically very light first day and day 4 and 5.  I notice that after my failed IVF I didnt really start to get heavy until day 4 and my peroid lasted almost 7 days, which for me is not typical.

My last period after my failed IVF was super heavy! But that's just me... sorry I don't have more advice/reassurance for you sweetie ((Big Hugs))

After IVF #2, my initial AF was lighter than normal.  But, I had leftover cysts that threw off everything for a couple of months.  Your RE should have you do a baseline u/s before starting your FET cycle.  At that time they can tell if there are any potential issues (cysts or unshed lining).  Good luck, hon!

I never made it to ER, but my period after the tons of meds was close to nothing.  However, the next month it was terrible - really heavy, clotty, etc.
