DH and I both have iPods but only one computer since mine died last month. Does anyone know how to make iTunes show both libraries so I can sync my iPod? I tried logging out of his account and into mine, but it still shows his music. I do not want to listen to Metallica, I would rather listen to Rascal Flatts. This is just so frustrating and annoying. I feel like such a dork since I cannot figure this out.
Re: An iTunes question
DH and I like most of the same music, so we have only 1 library and 1 computer. We did make a playlist of the stuff that I like and he doesn't and vice versa, and uploaded that to our iPods so that we didn't have to hear everything the other one likes. Not all that quick to set up, but it works for us. I have no idea how to make 2 libraries.
HTH.
I'm not much help but have a suggestion to add on to the previous poster. You could back-up your stuff from whatever computer it's on now and import it into his library and then share the same library and only put your stuff on your ipod.
As for having 2 libraries on the same computer, I'm not positive that you can. Sorry.
the music is only stored on your computer....there isnt a way to transfer the music off your ipod and onto the computer. you would just have to redownload all your music (what a PITA...) to my knowledge, you would have to create a new playlist for your music on hubs itunes acct, as i dont think you can have more than 1 acct on your computer.
or have him buy you a new computer
ha
Lurker here:
You can totally do this! We share a laptop and set it up as two user accounts on Windows. This way we each have our own wallpaper, icons, etc. as well. Under control panel, you go to user accounts and family settings (this is in Vista, I assume 7 would be similar) and set up an account for yourself.
You then can hook up your iPod and it will pull songs off of it. However, some of my songs I had from sources outside of iTunes did not pull up so I lost a few things.
This works well for us.
Hope that helps
