Hives anyone???

We found out we were pregnant last week (after our loss last year we are shocked and excited).  I have been having hives really bad for a few weeks now. We are about five weeks along.  Has anyone ever had hives as a pregnancy symptom?

I had them at about 6w.  The allergist put me on zyrtec 2x a day for a week and they went away and never came back.  She said sometimes the body gets hives as a reaction to the increase in hormones and to not be surprised if they come back.  I have really bad seasonal allergies though so hives aren't really anything new to me.  Hope you feel better.  I know oatmeal baths helped me a lot (with the itching).

I also recommend Zyrtec. I have been getting hives since I was a child.  Zytrec is actually a form of medicine my hives always responed to best, only now its OTC.  Witch hazel will help reduce the itching.  Both of these are PG safe.

As a matter of fact, hives were my first clue I waspg my last 2 pgs (I can't remember if I did with my 1st pg). I broke out on my arms around 7dpo both times.  The only 2 times I've gotten hives in my life (when I'm not around horses--I get them from horses too).  They lasted a week or so and I haven't had them since.

I don't have any experience with this but I hope you get some relief soon!
