Smoothie question...Do you give as a snack or breakfast

Re: Smoothie question...Do you give as a snack or breakfast

  • I have done both. I use any flavor of yogurt, whole milk, ice and then any kind of fruit you want to mix in. The last one we did was mixed berries, strawberry yogurt, ice and whole milk. It made 2 servings so he got one for snack on a hot day and then I froze the rest and he got it the next morning for breakfast. HTH!

  • I love smoothies, for anytime really.  We usually use frozen fruit, that way it is so easy and you do not need ice.  I also find it easier to get organic fruit frozen than fresh.  I usually just do frozen fruit (any combo of strawberries, mangos, blueberries, ect) yogurt ( if I use flavored I don't use any sweetener, but with plain I will add agave nectar), and ground flaxseed.  If I have a banana (or any other fresh fruit that is on its last legs) I usually thow that in too.  It makes it a better consistancy.  I usually make extra and put what is left in my popsicle molds.  My son loves both the smoothies and the popsicles. Hope that helps!

  • Both. Either. Depends on how he's feeling.

I usually throw some frozen mixed berries (straw, blue, rasp, black), a banana, some milk (almond or coconut), and an individual container of fruit applesauce into the blender and let it rip. If we have something else lying around that would taste good I put it in too. When we have yogurt I put some in as well, though we don't have it very often.
