cant breathe through my nose...

I was sick a few weeks back and it was a head cold, but now I think I am over that part but still cant breathe out of my nose(makes it very hard to sleep) I dont want to keep using nose spray but dont know what else to do.  I was also thinking it might be allergies? Anyone have any advice?

My OB said that regular Sudafed is safe, and it is great because it is for colds or allergies so you can cover your bases. I hope you feel better!

Be careful as overuse of nasal sprays can actually cause a similar condition called Rhinitis medicamentosa.  You can try some home remedies like humidifier, use a steam pot, or eat some horseradish .  Or consult your doctor to see if you can use anti-histamines or other over the counters  (I think most say ok, but just double check).  Good luck... I am currently stuffed up as well!

yeah that is what i dont want!! dont want to get addicted lol I have a netti pot and might try that for a while it just sucks not being able to breathe

I had the same problem a few days ago and Vicks (the kind you rub under your nose) worked wonders for me.  I couldn't sleep or breathe before I used it.  Hope you feel better!

I could have written your post today! I've had extreme allergy symptoms developing over the last few days. Today it peaked and I am just miserable. My nose is so stuffy there is no breathing going on. Also, tonight the coughing has started to kick in as I've now been taking meds to try and break some of this gunk up! Seriously the meds on my doctors "safe list" are pretty much a joke. plain ole Sudafed or Benadryl are doing NOTHING!  And of course things got worse after my doctors office closed.

Completely with you! I got double-Whammy'd and got sick 2 weeks ago right before seasonal allergies kicked in, so it's like I've been sick for weeks.

 

Stuffy nose, coughing, sneezing... ugh, it's terrible.

I'm just ending my cold/sickness stuff. I was miserable for a few days not being able to breathe. Try Sudafed. Also, LOTS of water and sleep. And Tylenol.

I've had a bloody stuffy nose since I got the BFP and it hasn't let up. My best friend is a saline nose spray since it doesn't contain any kind of medication. Just salt and water. It works amazing!
