Diapers...

so I know this has probably been asked already, but I have NO IDEA what to do about diapers. People keep telling me to register for them, but 1. I don't know what diapers are the best. 2. I don't know how many of each size to resgister for. Do I only get one box of a 152 count of the size one's (I assume that's the newborn ones) because my little girl will out grow them? Or should I get more? Sorry I hope I'm not bugging anyone. I just feel lost with this particular aspect of registering.

Diapers ended up being the one thing I never had to register for with DD, because everyone just bought them for me, assuming I'd need them.  And they were definitely all used, lol.  Coincidentally, everyone who got me diapers got me Pampers Swaddlers for newborns, with the umbilical cord cutouts, and those worked really well.  Maybe those can be your jumping point, you know?

Another thing you might need to think about it whether certain diapers will break out your baby. My niece has extremely sensitive skins and certain brands break her out, so I don't plan on stocking up too much just in case...

yes that's what I thought too. I feel like I won't know how big (or small) my baby will be when she is born nor will I know if she will be sensitive or not, so I wasn't planning on registering for them but people are on my case about it...I don't know what the right thing to do is...

I registered for one big box of newborn size diapers then 2 or 3 for size 1s.

My mother said it should only take one box of N size ones bc they grow so fast at first. (epecially since I plan to bf and hubby was a very quick growing child)

Newborn diapers go up to 10lbs.  My DS was only 6lb11oz at birth, and stayed in newborn diapers (and clothes for that matter) for a good 6 weeks.  Personally, I would accept what people give you, but probably ask for giftcards to buy diapers with.  It seems everyone prefers their particular brand, and some babies have reactions to some, or leaking with the fit of others.  I would just try a few before stocking up on a bunch of diapers that you hate.

Dunno if this helps at all, but I plan to try cloth diapering, with disposable as a back up...but since I dont know what sposies will work the best with our son, I actually just registered for one box of size one and one box of size two, for every brand out there. LOL I figure that should take him through his first year... and I can try them all - whichever ones dont work I can always return and exchange for the ones that do.
