Maid question

With us both working FT we are finding we need a little help. We are pretty clean people, but just Want someone to vacuum, dust, mop, and clean the bathrooms. We were thinking 2 times a month. How much would you or do you pay a cleaning service? We are meeting with someone next week and want to be prepared. Also, do you just leave a key for them? That makes me nervous...Thanks!

We pay $100 biweekly.  She's independent (meaning not from Merry Maids or the like), and I found her through a referral from one of the women in my wive's club who's had her for 11 years.  I think her prices are probably a little on the high side for the area, but given her 11 year history with the woman I know, I'm willing to pay it.

I met/interviewed her, and after we agreed on the pay and what day she would come, I gave her a copy of our key.

She's a sanity saver for me.  We have to do sweeping in between visits, and occasionally vacuuming, but the rest I don't worry about.

I pay our sweet house keeper 80 dollars every week for about 3500 sq ft.  They will come down on the price if you get them weekly and have your house picked up to where they can come in, clean and leave and not have to tidy up.  

Be sure your house is picked up when she comes.  This will give her a good impression and if she is wavering over the price she will come down thinking it will be a strait shot cleaning job and not a lot of picking and straitening up.  : ) 

They will also consider pets in their price.....
