Bra Vent

Grr...I need new bras. Pre-preg I was a 38C, right after BFP I had to get some 38Ds. I'm outgrowing the 38Ds in the cup. 40Ds are too big and I can't find a 38E to try other than at motherhood and their bras are not sized right!!

GRRRRR. That's my vent...now to look for more bras. Which brand do you like?

Re: Bra Vent

  • I'm not very brand loyal when it comes to bras. I usually just go into a store like Kohl's or JCP and grab a ton to try on. I find that sizes very greatly between brands so I just try them on till I find one that fits. I've found that the $50 VS bras don't hold up any better than the $20 store brand bras, so I just stick with the cheaper ones.

  • If you can afford it, go to a bra store.  You tell them what you are looking for in a bra, then they custom fit you.  I NEVER had luck shopping for bras I liked until I started shopping at a bra store.  I went to the bra store today to buy a few new ones... I was in and out in 10 minutes.
  • I'm about the same size & I buy all my bras at Lane Bryant. They are super comfy and, while they're a bit on the expensive side, they tend to run sales regularly & they last forever.
  • Same problem here. If you have a Younkers or other department store that sells Wacoal bras try them, they go up to a G or more I think and they're pretty!

  • Sounds like you don't need an E but rather a DD, which are relatively easy to find. Pre-pregnancy I was a 36DD and now am a 36 DDD or 38DD depending on the bra. I am incredibly brand loyal to Vanity Fair but recently got a Wacoal (in DDD). In my younger C-cup days I loved Olga and they go up into the higher than DD sizes. Kohls and JC Pennys both carry VF and Olga and one or the other is usually on sale.

  • Thanks ladies - yeah, I think I need to go try on many more...I was trying to stick w/nursing bras but I don't think that's going to happen.

Maybe I'll try kohls since I'm not sure this is going to be the last that I go up. With DD I was a 40DD when I delivered but after my milk came in and got regulated I went back to a 38D. I really don't want to end up with $300 in bras that I can't wear!!

  • Sears, Two Hearts brand (not high-end, but comfy and durable), had 38E nursing bras and nursing sports bras.

  • I second Lane Bryant. I started at a 36DD and I've now outgrown their 36 DDD..time to move on to the 38DDD, I guess. They seem to be good quality and aren't terribly expensive.
  • Try wacoal bras.  You can get them at Dillards or Macys.  They are wonderful and SO comfortable!
