Okay, I don't know what's going on! Georgia's naps are shrinking FAST, and I have no idea why. She's not getting enough sleep because she's obviously still tired, but for some reason she is waking up crying and cannot / will not go back to sleep.
Two days ago, she napped for 1/2 hr!!!!! Yesterday, she didn't nap at all!!!!!! Today was a pretty average (these days) 45 minutes.
Isn't that WAAAYYY too short for 15 months?
IDK....she cries when I first put her down....at bedtime too. She hasn't done this in months.
What can you do for a baby who is tired, but who cannot / will not sleep enough?
I put her to bed earlier, but she doesn't sleep through the night either.....so she's only getting 12 hrs total sleep in 24.
Re: 15 month old nap issues....ARGH!!!!!!
Well, good to know I'm not alone!! I NEED nap time for my own sanity LOL.
IDK, I hope it's a passing phase.....
Is she keeping the same routine, or has anything changed lately? My DD went through this same phase this past Friday-Monday. My sister was in town and stayed with us, so we were out and about, and DD's routine wasn't kept. She napped for 20-30 min only each day, but kept the same sleep schedule at night. Now that we are back to her typical routine, she's been back to her normal 2 hour naps.
I agree with what a PP said about exercise....I've noticed if my DD hasn't been as active during the day, she has too much energy to fall asleep at her normal nap time.
I'm pretty sure that's what Ferber says too- that 11-13 hours total sleep is normal at this age, and that most people just expect their kid to sleep way longer than reasonable.
