2 down, 2 to go...DCP visits that is

So E and I went and looked at 2 Daycare centers this morning. One was ok, but something just didn't sit right with me. The second, was awesome! E did not want to leave and I loved the teacher and the admin people. The second is actually doable financially. The only problem is that their policy is that all children must basically be familiar with going potty, maybe with a few reminders, etc but NO DIAPERS at all. We have not even really started PT but this may be the thing to get us started since E has shown some interest in it. This is the only center with that policy.

I have 2 more to see this afternoon and then I will talk to DH and have him go back with me to the top 2 or 3.

  • Excellent!  I do not like your current DCP at all.  Who really gives an F about her funky cycle?!

  • Yay! I think that the no diaper policy of the second center will be good for your daughter. I'm sure they're used to accidents and if they have all the children not wearing diapers, then I'm sure they take tons of group potty breaks. Seeing other children use the potty will only encourage her to do the same.

    Now, a random question:

Is it just in the room where she will be that they do not allow diapers? If the potty training thing really isn't working, would they be able to move her down to a younger room until she potty trains?

There is only 1 room for her age group and the school starts at age 2 so it is a school policy. They have 3-4 potties in the room so all the kids can go. While we were there, there was a little boy around 7 that came into the office. He sat down at one of the desks and was "collecting" himself. The principal said that the little boy's dad had passed away all of a sudden a few weeks earlier so he has been having a hard time lately. They seem to be open that if the kids are having a hard time, bad day, etc then the kids can go to the office and take a break for a bit. I loved that. The school has bake sales, pj days, and her teacher has a blog that she posts pics every day of what they did. I really like this place.
