That's almost as good as a co-worker who is naming her daughter Willow....their last name is lake. Thats right....Willow Lake (I can't wait to hear the middle name lol)
I love both names separately. It's too much together though.
This must be why it bugs me, it just doesn't go. Oh well, the baby will go by Olive, which Ilike by itself.
I think it also bugs me because it's two nouns (that could also be used as adjectives). Olive is a food. Pearl is a jewel. So it sounds like they either love green-colored pearls or shiny olives or perhaps just love to eat olives and wear pearls. It's just too many inanimate objects in one name.
I would have never put those names together (NMS) but I watched "Easy A" and the main character's name was Olive. At first I was like "who names their kid Olive?" but the actress had so much moxie she made it work. Pearl is NMS at all, but at least it's the MN.

LOL. This.
Although I love the name Pearl and Olive is really cute, but together they sound awful.
Olive was the name I had picked out for a girl, but I do think it sounds awkward with Pearl. I think it's the fact that they're both only one syllable that makes it sound a little off, not the worst name I've heard though. They could've named her Nevaeh

Hmm. I LOVE both names, and I don't hate them together but it is a little off for me. Two object words together is a bit much.
But I do love both names, so I am more thumbs up than down.
