Spring is here and my toes need to be free! I am a HUGE flip-flopper, anything from the $2.00 specials from Old Navy to metallic leather from Nine West.
I want to get flippers that are sturdier and more supportive (if that's even possible) than what I wear normally. Any suggestions?
Re: Supportive flip-flops?
I love my Nike flip-flops. They are very cushy. They still hurt my arch every once in a while, but all flip-flops do that. They are all I wear during the warm months.

I've never worn these specific ones...but I would imagine they're more supportive than the normal thin flip flops. I love all my other Reefs, so I can't imagine these being bad!

Chacos are great too! They have an indestructible soul...I have had mine for almost 8 years now and they still look brand new, the treads on the bottom aren't even slightly worn... they aren't very "cushy" like reefs, but they last forever literally. A++ on being well made.
wow, thanks for posting this!!
I wore some leather flipflops instead of heels to host a baby shower in last Saturday, thought I was being so smart...the bottoms of my feet felt BRUISED until about wednesday. It seriously hurt to walk around the house, and I had to wear tennis shoes to work all week so they could heal. OUCH!
I would spend the extra $ and go with chacos or earth shoes. They are really good for support and comfort. Right now you need support (especially when your ankles start to get affected by the loosening up of the ligaments, right?).
I have chaco sandals and they are super ugly, but MAN I can walk in them for a long time and not have my feet hurt at ALL.
I forgot I have a pair of grey croc flats that I bought a few years ago. My husband HATES them, but I wore them all over Germany/Italy without any pain in my feet!
Once it gets warm I live in my birkenstocks. best thing is they will be fine to wear this year since they are adjustable and my swollen feet and not liking anything else.
these are my 2 favorites that I have:

i usually see what QVC has onsale when I need a new pair, but these have lasted me for years.
I'm a huge Rainbows fan. They need to be worn to break in, which can be uncomfy, but afterward they are totally molded to your foot like an orthotic. They are pricey but last for years. I have my first pair that I have been wearing for nearly 4 years. DH is also due for a new pair, but again has been wearing them for nearly 4 years.

eta: I prefer the double thick colored leather over the other options. Definitely go for the double thick - it makes a huge difference in the comfort.
