Gift Idea for the Host

A family friend on my husband's side is throwing me a small shower this weekend in Ohio, his home state!

I feel that I should get the host a gift because she is working so hard, and while we have a good relationship I know she is doing it out of respect for my husband & mother in law

 Any suggestions on a good gift that isn't too personal since I don't really know her tastes?

If you want to give her something she can actualy use, I would say gift cards. Otherwise, flowers, candles, bath stuff are usually acceptable gifts.

I would go with sending her a heartfelt thank you and flowers.

My 5 aunts all went in together to throw my shower last year-- I got them each a Vera Bradley umbrella with a thank you note attached that said "Hope this comes in handy during your next shower!"
