Long... sorry!!!
How old were your twins when they started sleeping through the night and waking up around the same time each morning? And, are they just on a bottle or solids too? How many ounces are they eating during each feed?
Mine are 5 months. They eat every 4 hours during the day. On average they eat between 4-5 ounces at a time. The last bottle before bed they will eat maybe 6 if we are lucky. They were on solids but may have had an allergy so I DC'd for now and will start them up again soon. They are a little over 5 months but really 4 months due to being born early.. so maybe too soon for solids? I can't seem to get them on a schedule where they eat at the same time every day because one day they will wake up around 4 or 5 and like today they slept unil 7ish. So some nights their last bottle will be around 9, others a little later or even earlier. Now that they are a little older they don't take naps as long either during the day and for some reason they are now on opposite schedules, I have no idea how this happened. By the time I get the other one down for a nap, her sister wakes up.
Any suggestions on forming a schedule for them to follow that works?? I would love to have them eat around the same time every day and wake up around the same time if possible... is it possible??!!! Thanks.
Re: sleeping schedule
Mine are also 5 mos, 4 mos adjusted. We plan to start solids in a week or two. One STTN 6:45-6:45. One wakes for a bottle at 2-3am. One sometimes wakes for a bottle and sometimes doesn't. Today he woke at 4:45 and we fed him and put him back down. Then we got them all up at 7am and they all had their first bottle of the day together at 7:30. They will get a bottle every 3 hours till bedtime at 6:45.
So basically we just start their day off together regardless of how their schedules differ overnight. We offer 5 6.5 oz. bottles during the day and overnight we offer about 5 ounces once for the ones who wake. The don't always take the whole 6.5oz.
