I hate seeing babies with their ears pierced!  And worse when the parent(s) are like "I wanted to do it now so they dont remember the pain".  They might not remember it but it will hurt at the time and I 100% think that this is something that the child should decide.

I just came back to the board to post this exact UO.  I have seen a few cute ones on Etsy, but in general I think they are super tacky.

I think a lot of the sn changes are kind of silly.  Unless your full name was in your sn, or you had a e-stalker, I don't get why it really matters or what the big need for a new sn is.

I'll give a UO along these lines.  I don't think a baby should be baptized at all.  I think someone should be allowed to make that decision for themselves when they get old enough to understand. 

Completely agree.  Even at 8 years old, I don't think kids are old enough to realize what they want (I'm from Utah and mormon kids are baptized at 8).

My UO: I get pretty tired of the women who try to compete with other women about when their child hits a certain milestone and if they do so before yours.  It's not a competition.  Every baby is different and who cares if mine does or doesn't do something before yours!

They were great songwriters (though Dylan stands out as the best to me of that time period) and decent musicians that appeared at just the right time, and who have continued to be influential, but their contribution to the world of music has been bloated to mythical proportions. Never mind that much of what people site as their best work was largely created by George Martin. Great band? Absolutely. The greatest band of all time? No.

I'm not sure I like being a SAHM. I am only off for one full year, and I know that most women would love to be in my position, but I dont' like it and want to go back to work.

I love Logan more than anything and do enjoy my time with him, but I now realize I'm not satisfied being only a mom.

I am grateful for the time I have had off, but am looking into going back to work early, part-time. I need to get out of the house, without him.

It used to keep me up nights. Eh, sometimes it still does. I guess I can't reconcile the concept in my head. Fearing what I can't comprehend, maybe? I also can really upset myself thinking about eternity in hell. I don't know if I jive with the whole "their skin will be burning like they are in an open flame for all eternity." I think that's a little too literal an interpretation. Do I think hell would be some walk in the park? No. On the same token, do I really believe God would doom millions upon millions to sit in a literal, physical FIRE forever? I don't know if I do. I'm not so sure the torment of a place like hell would be physical like the spittle-lipped preachers screamed at me from the pulpit as a kid. I think it more means to be apart from God is a torment in itself. Sure, it's crappy, but on fi-yah? Ehhhh...

Well, since I decided not to take the bible literally at all I sleep a lot better at night.  I had religion and the like shoved down my throat from day one (my dad is a minister).  I lived my childhood and some of my adulthood feeling guilty about every little thing and being scared I was going to damn myself to hell.  Not fun!!

The exception to this is the Baptist faith, which believes in the baptism of adults only and not infants. They call it "believer's baptism," as opposed to "infant baptism."

I understand what baptism is completely.  I was born and raised in church.  It's a parent's commitment to indoctrinate their child in a set of beliefs before the child has a chance to form their own opinions and beliefs.

I love message board drama, and I believe that most people who say they don't are lying liars. If the majority of users hated drama, this board would have way more eczema and sleep training posts with stars and a million views. But it doesn't. The UO, FFFC and general shiit slinging threads are the ones everyone wants to read and the reason why we all keep coming back.

So everyone can continue to front-bump and say how they are "soooooo glad the board is drama free and certain bumpies aren't around anymore", but I see right through them. In fact, the ones who say those things, in my mind, are the ones who crave the drama the most.

ITA. I had a mad crush on William growing up and his pictures were plastered on my walls. Once we all got a little older, I found Harry more attractive. Now I don't think I am really attracted to either of them. Maybe Harry, definitely NOT William. He is starting to look too much like his Dad and that grosses me out.

I also think it is absolutely ridiculous to splurge on certain things (like nice clothes, certain toys, a higher end diaper bag, etc) but then by the cheapest/ lower quality car seat.

And, I kind of get aggravated with people who b!tch about the cost of a Britax.  You can get one for $250 - 300.  And you kid will be in it for YEARS.  It really isn't THAT expensive when you look at how long you will use it, and how important a safe car seat is.

I meant outside of a church, as an entity. You can get married legally without having anything to do with a religion. You can't have a baptism without the religion. Different denominations disagree about what exactly needs to happen for a baptism. I know for Catholics, "emergency baptisms" can be performed by any member of the faith. Obviously those would be not in a church or even with a member of clergy, but the Church considers them valid.

I didn't want to say that in my original UO b/c if I said it sh!t would hit the fan.  So, I will agree with what you said.  Now no one can point fingers at me only!  Haha!

I had to teach so I was a post and run but the SN changes are getting a little out of control. I mean saying you had to change it because your family members might see it is a little weird to me. Well, I agree. That's where my UO came from. You'd be surprised how many people on the boards were posting about how they want to baptize their LO's but they don't even BELIEVE in God or practice any form of religion. That's bazerk.
