BG small or extra small

I want to start CDing from the beginning and I don't know if I should get a larger stash of the BG 3.0 extra smalls or if I should move up to the smalls. I really would hate to invest in extra smalls and have them last only a couple of weeks. What are your experiences with BG extra smalls?

It totally depends on the kid. Ds was perfectly average sized at 7 lbs 12 oz. He was drowning in the smalls. He wore xs for 6 weeks or so. I know other kids who were about Ds size who never needed xs. You could always get smalls and if you need to order xs.

I would definitely get xsmalls. My DD was 9 lbs 7 oz at birth and wore the xsmalls until at least 6 or 7 weeks of age. She wears the smalls now at over 12 lbs and they fit great.

My baby was 7lb 5oz and I was very happy to have the xs. They only lasted for 2-3 weeks (she chunked up fast!) but I was able to sell them immediately. I'd get both but know that the smalls won't be used for the first few weeks. There's no way the smalls would've kept the brand new baby poo in in the first couple of weeks. I was too tired to deal with that. :-)

Abby was about 8.5 pounds at birth and she wore the smalls at about a week old, she was still well under 9 pounds.  She is 10.5 pounds now and she can wear both the smalls and the mediums.  The smalls fit great and the mediums are a little big.  I would not get x-smalls.

After combing through tons of reviews, I ended up sending back most of the xs's that I purchased for my LO and exchanged them for smalls. My DS was 8#9oz so I'm expecting another decent sized baby and from what I gathered, they don't fit larger babies for very long.

DS was 7 pounds 10 oz at birth.  He was long and lean with skinny legs.  The smalls were huge on him.  The XS fit right away.  Like pp said, they only lasted about 6 weeks but if we didn't have them we would have been S.O.L until the smalls fit which was around 4 weeks. (the smalls lasted until 5 1/2 mos for us so I definitely got good use out of them!)
