Cloth Diapering

cloth wipes

what do you soak yours in? I've finally gotten through to DH that is will be easier and LESS mess to use the cloth wipes than the sposies since he won't have to worry about what to do with the wipes ... just put them in the diaper like usual and I'll deal with them. Now... what do you use to wet yours? Can I keep them in a sposie wipe box? suggestions...

Re: cloth wipes

  • You can use just warm water and it works fine.
I personally use a couple cups of water, a teaspoon of honey, a teaspoon of baby wash and a couple drops of tee tree oil.

You can find some cloth wipe 'recipes' here:https://www.zany-zebra.com/cloth-wipe-solution.shtml

I use a wipes warmer, but a normal  wipes case works just fine.
Or you can keep your wipes dry and just wet with the solution as needed.

If you ARE storing the wipes in a wipes warmer, just make sure you clean it all out weekly, since it will harvest bacteria.

  • Warm water is actually best.

When I or friends of mine have used "wipe solutions" either spray on or others, they always end up giving baby a rash at some point.

What's the point in solutions anyway.  If you already wash your baby's butt in mild soap everyday, you don't need a wipe solution :)
