I'm looking for some tips on actual on-the-airplane entertainment. I was thinking of buying a few new little toys for the flight...but the only toys they are really interested in now are ones that light up/make noise, etc...things that I think people will get annoyed at us for.
So how can I keep them entertained on the flight? It's a 3 hour flight, they'll probably nap a bit, but otehr than that...yikes. One crawls, they both cruise...I'm kind of dreading this!
Thanks!
Re: Have you flown with 9ish month olds?
Wiffle balls!!!
Just kidding. I've got nuthin'. My kids only like wiffle balls because I stole the idea from you.
I'm sure they'll do great though. Mine constantly surprise me how well they do in situations where I'm positive they'll scream their faces off.
lots and lots and lots of snacks! I would probably still take a few small musical light up things. If they will be entertained, it is better than them screaming! I know they are super young for TV, but could a portable dvd with baby einstein or sesame street help to keep them calm and quiet for some of the trip?
Bring snacks (can they do cheerios and puffs?) and we brought a few board books to flip through as well as a few toys. I made sure they were comfy for a nap (which, thankfully, they did nap) so I packed a few blankets, too.
Ours was a three hour flight too--it honestly wasn't as bad as I anticipated. A few times I would get up with them to walk but they did really well over all and I didn't find myself having to entertain as much.
GL and hope you have a great flight!
Ok, sounds like SNACKS are the way to go! We're going JetBlue, so they DO have those little TVs on the back of the seats...maybe they'll be interested in those?
Haven, glad the boys are enjoying the wiffle balls! I got the 3-packs from Target, they were only a few bucks. Endlessly entertaining!
i just flew with my kids last month. i did get them new little toys and board books to play with. a lot of the toys had sound but i figured the sound from the toys would be far less annoying than two screaming infants.
my son was super antsy (he was crawling at the time) so we kind of passed him around as much as we could and walked up and down the aisles with him, he loves to "meet" people so that was a great distraction for him. my daughter just tried to get everyone around her to pay attention to her, and was fairly successful.
they did sleep a decent amount of time both there and back (it was a 4 1/2 hour flight) good luck!
