So..I am on my first round of clomid (cd 5-9). I am going in tomorrow (cd14) for an exam...something like a pap my nurse told me. I believe that it is a post colital exam. Has anyone had this done? What should I expect? I googled it and it looks like it checks to see what dh sperm looks like with my cm...ie: is my cm good, is dh sperm alive...etc. Note- we had to bd with in 14 hrs of apt.
I normally use preseed when bd but not sure if I should tonight. Yes? No?
Re: Post-Colitial Exam/Clomid ?
Info/links on being monitored at the bottom. Yes you should be seeing an RE if you're undergoing infertility treatments. Not only will they screen you acutely and diagnose your problem better, they can give you the treatment that you deserve to have. Too many times I've seen on the board people regretting not moving on to an RE earlier. If you need to stay with an GYN for a specific reason, please choose your dr carefully.
I've never done a post coital, or done Clomid for that matter, so I'm no help on that topic.
Good luck.
I have had a post-coital, the Dr. just takes a sample of your CM from your cervix to see how your DH's sperm look. You don't feel a thing. The Dr. is also checking to see if you produce enough CM. If you use preseed as a lubricant like you would use Astroglide or KY then you are fine. If you use preseed by injecting inside you, I would not recommend doing that b/c your Dr. needs to see if you produce enough CM.
I have done 5 rounds of Clomid. You need to monitored closely while you take Clomid, which Ob/gyns don't seem to do. It is very dangerous to not be monitored. Clomid affects everyone differently. The only s/e I had was being very thristy and the last round I got very emotional.
