DS's 1st b-day party is Saturday, I'm using this theme "I Dig Being 1." https://dimpleprints.blogspot.com/2010/04/customer-party-i-dig-being-one.html
I'm trying to think of a few games for the kids. They'll be pretty young, between 2 yrs - 4.5 yrs, and a 9 yr old. My DH has access to those large traffic cones and caution tape. I was thinking of some sort of outdoor obstacle course?
So far the only thing I have, and this would be more for the adults, is how many screws/nails are in a jar.
Re: Need ideas for boy's b-day party games - construction theme
We just did a construction party for my three year old last week. Here are a couple of ideas:
1.He was Bob the Builder (Overalls, Orange plaid shirt, hard hat and tool belt) for Halloween last year so I blew up his picture and printed a bunch of pictures of tools and we did pin the tools on his tool belt.
2. We filled a kiddie pool with newspaper "boulders" as well as prizes(construction stickers, tool shaped gummy candies and dumptrucks from the target $ section) and gave the kids plastic shovels to dig for prizes. This one was a huge hit.
3. Tossed Bean Bags into my son's dump trucks
The other games we played weren't construction themed.
I'm sure if you've been looking online you've seen this idea, but for the cake I made brownies and crumbled them up and filled a lined toy dump truck with them and gummy worms and the kids got to each dig out some "dirt" to put on their ice cream.
I also ordered hard hats for the kids and had a construction sticker scene from oriental trading that the kids got to work on while my son opened presents.
