What has been your RE's course of action ever since you were diagnosed? I am just newly diagnosed so I am really not quite sure what to expect. Thanks!
Sorry, just wanted to add that we have already been through 6 IUI's with Femera before my lap. We were unexplained by that point. We were advised to try on our own for a few months and will then probably start injectibles. Thanks!
i think i responded to you last week with what i did after my lap. but i'd say this--if your endo is growing aggressively then i wouldn't even bother trying on your own. we did, we also did IUIs, but the whole time i wondered if it was futile. on our first IVF we got pg. docs say endo patients have a lot of success with IVF b/c it bypasses the problems that endo causes.
just food for thought---after all those IUIs failing i'd personally suggest trying IVF (instead of another IUI with injectibles)
diagnosed with stage IV endo via lap surgery
IVF #1 - 27 eggs! 14 fertilized (3 natural, 11 ICSI) 5dt of A embryo, froze 6
BFP on 9/28!
Baby K born via surprise c-section after 15 hrs of labor and he is perfect!!
Before my lap we had just been trying Clomid + TI. After the lap he recommended injectables + IUI, but I was scared and stubborn and did 2 Clomid IUIs first. Those didn't work, so we moved on to 2 injectable IUIs. When those didn't work, he recommended IVF. He just said "you've been at this a long time, and IVF has a better success rate." It made sense to me to go for the big guns and spend our money on something that had the potential to be more successful. Of course, my first IVF was a BFN so that's not encouraging but we're doing a frozen embryo transfer this month with much higher quality embryos than my fresh transfer so my RE is still hopeful.
good luck to you!

I also replied last week I think, but I had surgery about a year ago for Stage IV. I have been on BC all year to suppress it, and I'm getting ready to start TTC in two weeks (when my current pack of BC ends). Both my OB and the RE's office that I may be seeing eventually recommended that we try on our own for 3-6 months, depending on our comfort level. We've decided to give it until April. I def. agree with Mobiz that if you have already been through some procedures, I wouldn't hesitate to discuss IVF with your doctor if you can afford it or have insurance coverage. Endo can cause a harsh environment for an embie, and IVF can help with the process. Best of luck to you!
