Adoption

Hello ladies!

I have been lurking/occasionally posting for sometime now and thought I would introduce myself.

My husband and I are just wrapping up our homestudy for foster-to-adopt in our state.  We have had a crazy IF journey, that isn't quite yet over.  Our RE informed us that while we are going to try another IVF (only because it's already paid for and we bought a package deal), he doesn't have hope for our success.  I am getting my tubes taken out on Thursday so obviously there will be no more TTC for us.  We have seen this coming since my 5th m/c in November so we decided it was time to start our family through adoption.

I am just learning about everything foster and adoption related and we have already attended foster parent training in our state (PRIDE).  We are very excited to get involved in possibly fostering a sibling group, and hopefully one day we will be matched with a sibling group that will become our family.  In the mean time I am just excited to have kids in my life and be able to help families that really need it.

I welcome any advice you have with regards to foster care or foster-to-adopt.  I look forward to learning about all of you and celebrating success as we start or complete our families!

Re: Hello ladies!

  • You know I love you Kelin!

And you're especially on my heart as you take these next steps in surgery and IVF.

But I am SO excited that there will be kids in your life soon!  I look forward to where this foster/adopt journey takes you!

Awwww, thanks Miss Swanck-y!  You know I love ya!  MWAH!!  I will respond to your Facebook message as soon as I can.  And you will likely get random crazy messages from me while drugged up after surgery.  I am sure you won't mind. :)

    Won't mind at all!

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help post-surgery.

  • Hi Kelin, I'm excited to hear about your foster to adopt journey. You will be in my thoughts on thursday. I'm so happy that you will soon have kids in your life because you will be an amazing mom.
