need b-day party ideas

I've decided on a dinosaur party for W's 1st b-day. I want it to be happy dino, not scary t-rex. Help me with some creative ideas for foods, decorations, etc. I picked up some plastic easter eggs that I was thinking of turning into dino ggs, but that's about as far as I've come. I'm not even sure how to make them look like dino eggs. I was thinking of making cupcakes with a nest on top using mini cadburry eggs, but don't want it to look too much like a bird nest.

Bonus: vegetarian foods are better since we don't eat meat, and I gag when I cook it. I'd have to recruit a meat cooker for other dishes since most guests aren't vegetarians.

I was just considering making detachable "tails" for the kids. (Just because) I would be happy to make some dino-tails for you if you would like.    As for the eggs, what if you add some round stickers all over them to make polka dot dino eggs?  W is going to have an AWESOME party!

Maybe get a kiddie pool filled with sand and let them "dig" for eggs with prizes inside? I bet the ladies at Pinwheel Lane could put together a cute Dino package with cupcake toppers, banner etc. As for food, you should totally go Herbivore. People should be fine without meat for one meal - you'd be doing them a favor!

I was just going to say that I remembered Pixel had a super cute dino party! 

I wouldn't say you have to have meat, but I'd offer some other protein options depending on the time of day.  Cheese maybe?  Pasta salad made with cheese tortellini so it's more filling?  The dino chicken nuggets would be super cute though!
