I can't believe I didn't write this down in Mads' baby book...I don't remember when I stopped swaddling her or how I did it.
With Will, I feel like I should - but he just rubs his eyes all darn night if I don't and continually wakes himself up.
When/How/What did you girls do?
Re: The Swaddle...
I am no help. Max only did well with the swaddle for two months. Then my little Houdini broke out of everything (including the miracle blanket/straight jacket). We just stopped cold turkey, and he slept so much better.
A lot of people start swaddling with an arm out or both arms out at first. Then they give up on the swaddle all together if that works. How is Will doing? I think about you guys all the time. I hope your little happy man is back permanently, and that you all are having an easier time of it since seeing the allergist.

Queue lovefest music here... I think about you all the time too. You're one of my favorite people that I never get to see
Will is continuing to be on the up and up. He's starting to go down easier at night (could it possibly be that I won't have to CIO with him? Did I just jinx myself?) and just be plain ole happier except for the normal witching hours any 5 month old would have. It's so much more fun to have a happy baby!!!
We double swaddled her (with a thermal blanket and then a SwaddleMe over top) until about 4 months and then quit cold turkey b/c she was breaking out and sleeping bad struggling to break out. Her sleep improved quite a bit at first, but then she cut teeth at 4 1/2 months and learned to roll over at 5 and it's gotten worse again. Boo! I hope that things go smoothly for you and your sweet little mister!

It's a GIRL! Lydia Marie!
We started learning to sleep without it at 7.5 months. He started rolling back to tummy sometimes, and seemed to be getting one arm out almost every night. I swaddled loosely, and kept the arm he was pulling out, out of the swaddle. When I put him to bed (he falls asleep on us, then we move him), I'd hold down the free arm so it didn't jerk up the moment he was on the bed. Once he was back in deep sleep I'd let go and leave the room. Then we went to haveing legs in the swaddle, but arms free. I think he still liked the tight feeling on his chest and legs,
He woke up some, but we were doing pretty good a few nights later. Now we use a sleep sack.
Awe, shucks. Back atcha!!
You are such an awesome mama! You have two wonderful, beautiful kids that you would walk to the ends of the earth for. You work your arse off to provide for them, and I am so happy to hear that you are having a blast with them again! We should figure out some way to get together more. It would have been a lot easier if I still lived in Kent, but there's no reason that we can't find a way to make it work now! I think that Max would love Miss Maddy. And he LOVES "babies."
