Just put on bed rest at 30 weeks

At 30 weeks I started labor. I am 1cm dialated, baby is head down and "very low for 30 weeks" and I am 50% efaced(sp?) Hopefully they release me from the hospital today and then it's bed rest for at least 4 weeks they say. They also keep saying they want me to hopefully make 37 weeks... so that means, it will be more like BR for 7 weeks, or no? Anyone have a similar story?

I would assume they'll put you on bed rest for the next 7 weeks. I don't have experience with this, though. 

Good luck, and keep that baby in there to bake!

I'd assume the same thing since I don't think they'd want you running around all willy-nilly at 34 weeks when they want you to make it to 37 weeks. Maybe they'll just switch you to a modified BR at 34w.

That's what I figured too because it was my understanding that there is no undoing the progress thats been made.

Funny thing actually...I went into L & D at 28 weeks and was 1cm. I just saw my doctor yesterday at 30w3d, and still 1cm 50% effaced and I was told bedrest until full-term. I havn't been on bedrest since I had problems with sciatica around 20 wks. I am really not looking forward to that. However, I know it's best for our son so I will just have to hang in there. Sending lots of prayers your way that you make it to full-term

I went into preterm labor at 31 weeks and have been on bed rest since. My doctor has told me that if I have no changes I'll be free to go about my normal activity at 34 weeks. However, I didn't start dialating yet which is why I'd be able to go back to normal at 34 weeks, had I started to dialate it would be bed rest until 37 weeks.

I was just put on bed rest at 30 weeks too. My doctor just wants me to make it to 37 weeks. Im not going to be very good at this bed rest stuff.

yep - i'm on bedrest until 37 weeks.  it's hard!  but you can do it!  (i've been on bed rest for 3 months now!).  hang in there ...the end is in sight!  you need to keep that baby cookin!

Hope you get out of the hospital soon, your bedrest flies by, and the little one bakes until they are good and ready.

ive been on bedrest for 5 weeks already its really hard. The only thing that has helped me through this is having something to do for LO. I finished it last night. Its a bib I cross stitched that has noahs ark on it.

 Theres a daily bedrest check in on the high risk board. The ladies there are really encouraging and supportive.
