Has your kid randomly thrown up for no reason?

This morning Jack came in my room at normal wake up time, but was whining. He said he felt a burp coming, so I took him to the bathroom and he threw up.

Now he's sitting here watching TV asking for breakfast. I told him to wait a few more minutes just to be sure....

He doesn't look/act like he did when he had that tummy bug, but what else could cause the vom? He's never done anything like that before.

Just seeing if anyone can think of an explanation. ( I don't think it's cold/phlegm related)

thanks!

  • I realize this is similar to one of those "am I pregnant" posts- because no one knows for sure.

I guess I am just thinking outloud. Thinking and praying he isn't sick!=)

  • Not yet, but I hope he's feeling better soon and isn't actually sick!

  • Maybe your salmon made him puke.  JK!!!

The only time Katelyn has thrown up randomly like that was due to allergies.  I am sure that is not the case here!

  • Leo did that a few months ago.  We were coming home from the grocery and he vommed on the porch and then right inside the door.  He was completely fine though.  Maybe something didn't sit right with him from dinner or he had some post nasal drip over night.  I would just give him a bland breakfast and hope it was a one time thing.

  • Yes.  The only times K throws are completely random, it seems.  I usually blame it on excess saliva from teething, but I'm never really sure.

  • Yup - CJ did that one time a few months ago. It came out of no where, lasted all of 5 minutes and he was fine. I was super paranoid all that day because I thought he would get sick again, but no worries. I'd give him a bland diet today just to be safe though..... GL!

    Yes. This, exactly.

  • She sure has. I am sure I could always blame it on having been a reflux baby, but it seems to come out of nowhere. She has also vomited when choking. Once we blamed it on choking on her lovey bc there was no real reason for it to happen.
  • Justin has done this twice, separate occasions.  One time, he had an ear infection, and the other time, he had strep.  He had no fever, no red throat, no other external symptoms.

I'd just keep an eye on him and see how he does this afternoon.  He's probably fine, but with my kid there was an underlying reason, not immediately obvious.

  • Thanks guys!

both boys had the runs today so I am guessing it some kind of stooopid bug.

Although they have been running around playing like crazy so I think they feel fine.
