These were the two we were deciding between, and we decided to go with the Britax Marathon. My car pool partner has the sunshine kids for her daughter, so I see them side by side every day, and they are very comparable. They seem to be similar in ease of installation (we switch them every 3 weeks when we trade drivers), and both girls seem very comfortable. The Britax seems to have more to the sides, where as the sunshine kids is a flatter seat (not sure that either one is better). I like that the Marathon straps can be adjusted without rethreading the straps, which will make life much easier as DD grows taller. The Sunshine Kids can be folded up for air travel purposes which seems to be a plus for that brand.
I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I am very happy with my marathon and would purchase it again, and I think my carpool buddy feels the same about her Sunshine Kids.
I was torn between the 2 also. I ended up with the Britax Marathon 70, the Sunshine Kids Radian wouldn't fit in my car. Since my car is the family car, I can't have my passenger seat out of commission.
I have a radian & it's v tall & narrow. We have a forester & it fits in the middle RF just fine. I chose it bc of it's narrow-ness, you can comfortably fit a person on either side.
I realize I'm late to reply on this, but noticed everyone who responded has the Britax, and no one, except the girl with the car pool buddy, has a Sunshine Kids. Since I don't have the Britax I can't say much about which is better, but I can tell you that I absolutely LOVE our Sunshine Kids! It's super narrow, fits great in the rear passenger seat of our Chevy Equinox, DS is super comfy in it, and it's made of steel and very solid construction. The fact that it can fold up for travel is a nice perk if you need that sort of thing, and if so, you might also like the fact that it's the only convertible car seat approved for use on an airplane.
I doubt you can wrong with either one, so happy shopping!

I love my Britax seats, but I would go with a Radian. However, you have to make sure that it will fit your vehicle, because it won't fit in every car.
