I'm so glad they finally published this!! They've known this for years, too bad we have to be so far behind the research. And let's see how long it takes for the legislation to change. My province is one of two up here that has no booster seat law...and was the last to have a seatbelt law.
T is 9 and has one more inch before she can come out of her booster. E and K are still harnessed....guess this means S will officially stay rf till 2 (we already were though).
I hear that! My 11 year old niece just got out of her booster, but she should still be in it for 2 more inches. She weighs a whopping 54 lbs. T is a giant next to her and carries her around all the time. My little bro is a cop, after this came out he decided to go back to rf with my nephew who is 4, and only 28lbs, he's so tiny. I guess I have giants?
Margaux is still wee, luckily, and has no trouble rear-facing. It made me giggle, though, my 18-year-old niece is barely out of the booster size.
Yeah, the new rules mean that I would have been 12 before I could jettison the car seat. That would have made me even cooler and more popular than I already was

I think the booster guidelines are somewhat overboard. I mean my brother's ex-fiancee was only 4'8". Seriously.
That being said, I'm glad this was published.
Even though (flame away) I've known about this for ages and still switched A to forward facing 2 weeks ago (at 19 months). I just got tired of him kicking and squirming so I couldn't even strap him in.

oh lordy aint that the truth!
Ha! That's exactly why my niece came of hers! She said it ruined her image of the cool kid (I think the kids actually labelled her the class clown, tho, she farts her abc's).
Re: RF! Because The New York Times says so.
