Behavior deterioration after the time change?

My 4 year old has been an emotional wreck the past week.  Just really regressing like flipping out over stupidshit and my usual approach (choice/warning/consequence) is totally  not working.  I just read on another forum that this is a tough time for kids b/c of the time change?  Could it be?

Or is he actually a monster?  image

Re: Behavior deterioration after the time change?

  • Could be. . . my DD seemed to be a mess, but it turned out she was sick (had a fever for a day, etc.) so I'm not sure what the real problem was.

Now her only after-effect is that she's sleeping in a little later than usual and I'm not complaining.

  • Huh?

Well, maybe that is so.  It must be something because my 4 yo daughter is going through the same.  j*w* and I were just discussing this on email.

  • Gracie is having a hard time with the time change this year too.  It is almost like she's too tired to sleep.  I'm hoping that resting up this weekend will help -- we finally have a quiet weekend with both parents home.

  • DD has been the same way. I am hoping this passes soon, nothing is working and she is crying over every little thing

  • We really weren't back on track until Friday.  I know my kids were out of it with the time change for sure.  then, you add in good weather and being worn out from playing outside all day and they're a hot mess by the time bedtime rolls around.  And, it's still light out when it's bed time so they're having a hard time settling down.  They are finally sleeping in a little later, though.  But, with school, they can't sleep too late.  We're really more of standard time people, I've come to realize.  haha!

  • DS has been like that, too. He's waking up in the middle of the night and is up for the day at 5:30-6.

There was also a super-full moon.

  • The time change def has f'd us all up at my house! DS has been super emotional and having meltdowns...he's finally getting up at the right time again but still won't go to bed on time...I just got him to go to sleep at 9:30...1.5-2 hours past his bedtime...

We're also dealing with allergies...or at least I am...the pollen here is so thick, I'm thinking that may be part of it.
