If you have a Corolla...

1) Which convertible car seat do you use?  Would you recommend this one?

2) Where do you have the carseat (center, passenger side, etc).

3) How easily does it install (debating about switching between cars and only getting 1 seat).

Thanks SOO much, I know today has been car seat overload!

Re: If you have a Corolla...

  • I have an '09 Corolla. We have used an Evenflo Titan Elite in ours and the Graco My ride. They both fit great, and we have put them in the center of the backseat. I like the Evenflo better because it is not as tall as the Graco so it is easier for me to see (I'm pretty short). I'd recommend either though.

  • 1) I have the Britax roundabout 55. I would recommend this seat to anyone. It is much sturdier than the 'just as safe' cosco seat we have for our sitter. While it doesn't have an enormously high RFing limit (only 55 lbs), I figure since we have a peanut that by the time we hit 55 lbs, we will want a new seat due to wear and tear.

    2) Center

3)Super easy once you get used to it. It used to be really hard for me to use the LATCH at first, but once I finally started loosening the straps all the way, it became so easy to just clip it on and then tighten the straps. I did, however, buy a Cosco seat at target when they were on sale for only $35 just for convenience for my sitter who takes him while I work Parttime. We often get delayed in getting there on time, so it was a problem trying to move the carseat around while being on time for work. I figure that he is safer because we won't be rushing to install the seat. They rarely go anywhere, but for $35 it is nice to have for just in case.

It definately isn't necessary to get a second seat though if you are the main driver.

  • 1)  I have the Graco MyRide 65.  I would recommend it to some people.  If you are very tall, it doesn't allow for much leg room in the front, if you have the car seat rear facing.  I think this is the case for any large convertible car seat in a Corolla though.

    2)  I currently have it installed on the drivers side but I'm debating on putting in the center.

    3)  It was very easy to install, but a total *beep* to uninstall, for me.  Our plan was to switch it between my car and my husband's SUV on weekends, but we might just get a second one for my husband's SUV.
