AW: my preemie is walking!

I just can't believe this time last year we were still in the NICU...and now I have this little "toddler" that is running around...what a year!  He took his first steps two days before his birthday in Feb. and now he is full blown walking.  And before my due date of April 11th!  So proud of him! 

I hate that I associate the first year of his life as being pretty much the toughest year of my husband and I's life.  But we are enjoying life so much now as things have gotten so much better in the last couple weeks.  He is making great strides with eating which has been one of the largest obstacles we have faced this past year.  It really is unbelievable how much a child's ability (or lack there of) to eat consumes your life. 

For all those in the NICU now...one day (sooner than you think) there will be no more apena monitors beeping, no more weekly weight checks, no more reflux issues and you will take a deep breathe in relief that things are good, really good.  I promise.

Thats so great! I just want to say that your DS has the exact same stats as my DS. Born at 31w 5d and weighing 3lbs 13oz!
