DH and I are trying to figure out a girl name for our baby due in Sept. We have a boy name picked out (Dean Jeffery) but no girl name yet. These are the ones we like so far:
Sydney Grace
Savannah Grace
Paige (not sure on mn)
DD's name is Makayla Lynn if that matters. Last name starts with a F... thanks for the imput!
Re: Need advice on a girl name
I like Sydney and Paige, but Sydney better in a sibset with your daughter's name.
Do you have a specific question? Are you just asking which of the three we like best?
If so, I like Paige better than Sydney or Savannah.
On another note, this would be a great time for a clicky poll. You'd get a LOT more responses. Please see my signature for instructions, if you are not sure how to make one.
Savannah Grace is gorgeous.
I'm not a huge Sydney fan though.
I really dislike the name Sydney for a girl. Especially in your case because it's so masculine compared to the very girly Makayla.
I like Paige the best, but again, I don't think it pairs well with Makayla for a sibset.
So, in that case I choose Savannah by default. Its pretty, feminine, and sounds the best paired with your DDs name.

Paige is my personal favorite. I think Savannah is lovely, but don't "get" Sydney - a 21st-century Cindy? I'd only like it if the place (Sydney, Australia) was significant in some way, like if she was conceived there; otherwise I prefer Sidney "Sid" on boys, a la Sid Vicious.
IMO, Makayla and Savannah are very well-matched sister names - but then, if you ask me, the flow of the sib-set should be your last priority. (Individuals should be named individually. They're not a packaged unit; someday they'll disperse into the adult world and lead separate lives, etc.) I didn't used to like Paige, but now think it's really fun and spunky. The meaning is a bit weird: "little boy". In a way it adds to the name's quirky charm. It's declining in popularity, but still lingering in the top 100. Savannah is slightly more popular than Paige.
If you like Savannah, and the retro Dean (my dad's name, haha - I love it!), what about Susannah? It is MUCH less popular than trendy Savannah, and you could call her Zuzu, like the little girl in It's a Wonderful Life. (The one with ringlets who says the famous line: "Look, Daddy. Teacher says, every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings.") Good luck!
