Stupid hormones!

I am a flipping mess.  I am so excited to meet Addy, but cannot quit crying about Eli having to share me with a new baby.  I know he'll be a great big brother and he is really excited, but I know he can't understand fully how very much his life is about to change.  I seriously have a back ache because I sat here holding him for about an hour while he slept.  Poor little guy wasn't comfortable either.  This is normal right?  That I become a complete nut job right before the 2nd one is born?

  • Totally normal.  Smile

He will be a great big brother.  He is going to be so excited to meet her!  You might go through a little rough patch when he figures out his sister is here to stay, but it will be OK.

It won't be long before he can't remember life without her in it.  He's getting a wonderful gift.  Good luck this week!

  • I haven't gone through the transition yet, but I am right there with you!  I've been like this off and on all pregnancy, but yesterday was a really rough day for me.  I read B a big brother book at bedtime, and I just cried and cried and squeezed him.  I think he thought I was crazy and just laughed.  :)  Everyone I've talked with says it's totally normal, but while I'm so afraid of the changes, I'm also ready to just get them over with so I can stop worrying about it!  Anyway, know that I understand, and I think it's going to be way better than both of us are worrying about.

  • Yes, completely normal! You're going to have to see for yourself how great it's going to be. Big Smile

Enjoy those cuddles with your big boy. Soon you'll have two to squeeze!

  • Totally normal! It's going to be great, you'll see.

  • I fear this same thing and I'm not even pregnant with number 2 yet. Totally normal!
