Kate - work backwards

I really like the name Kate.  However, it almost sounds like it is a nickname and not a proper name.  Beside Katherine, what would be a "proper name" to give the nickname of Kate

Or just use Kate. I think it stands by itself just fine, and sounds rather dignified. I always try to think whether I could picture it on a resume- Katie, no, but Kate, yes.

I have always loved Katelyn.... you can use Kate, Katie, and Lynn as nn or grown names.  Matter of fact, unless DH absolutely forbids it if this baby is a girl it will be Katelyn Faith :-)

My girlfriends name is Katrina and we call her Kate/Katie. I always thought Katrina was such a pretty name (and she is gorgeous too).

I love Kate as a stand alone name. Matter of fact, it's my first choice for a girl name.

I like Kathleen but I really do think Kate could work by itself.
