Cloth Diapering

Cloth Brand Recommendations?

Although I have looked through pages & pages on here, I know it's been asked before I'm sure. But what affordable brands do you ladies use? When buying CD, can you use them from newborn to a couple of years? Or are there different sizes you buy? Between Google and posts, I just can't find adequate information. Thank you Ladies! :-)

Re: Cloth Brand Recommendations?

  • I've used Motherease One sizes for both of my girls from newborn to potty trained.

The rikki covers are sized so those needed to be purchased with growth but very durable and reasonably priced.

  • The FAQ at the top of the page has tons of helpful info. There are way too many styles and brands to list here:)

Personally though, we use One Size pockets, which will take DS from birth to potty training. We have mainly Happy Heinys, but we also have a few Fuzzi Bunz and Kawaii.

  • I like Bum Genius and Blueberry pockets and Goodmama fitteds.  They are all one-size diapers, but they did not work for the newborn stage.

  • We use Bum Genius and Fuzzibunz One Size for pockets...but personally we LOVE gdiapers for going out and I absolutely love prefolds and covers...just find them so easy.  The thirsties covers are our favourites.
  • I have 2 in CD right now, a 19mo DD and a 4mo DS. I am really liking Bumgenious 4.0 and Fuzzibunz for pockets and Goodmamas for fitteds. I can swap diapers between both kiddos depending on situation (overnight, around the house, etc). Try a few different brands before buying a ton of one kind. I did that with GroVias and they arent fitting either LO well and now I have 12 dipes I am not sure what to do with. Good luck! It has taken me about six weeks of trial and error to find what works for us.

  • There are some you can buy that are One Size and some that are various sizes.  In my opinion, the One Size diapers don't fit newborns well and won't fit well until around 6 months old.  We currently use Best Bottoms from nickisdiapers.com (Nicki's site has a TON of information on it about CDing too, that you might find useful).  We didn't use then when DS was teeny because they weren't on the market yet.  They are a one size shell with different size inserts available which is great because you can get a shell that can adjust to fit about 7-35 pounds I think but use differnt inserts to avoid having a diaper too big for a newborn and too small for a toddler.  They are one of the cheaper diapering systems on the market too and in our experience they work amazingly well.
