Striped Cupcakes? Would this Work?

If I wanted to make striped cupcakes, do you think it would work if I split the batter into thirds, dyed each third and poured them on top of each other in layers? Or, do you think they'd mix together and make a blech color? Perhaps a few trial runs are in order. Any taste testers?

That sounds interesting.  The colours might bleed a little, but I think it might work.  Just get them into the oven really fast.

I just finished a trial run on rainbow cupcakes, and learned a few things. Don't use too many colors, the rainbow had 5 and it was too heavy. Three should be ok, but I wouldn't fill much more than 60%, it seemed like it rose a lot more than regular cupcakes

Yes it would work. I have seen it done and I'm planning on doing it with the cupcakes that I'm making for Harrison's birthday party. Let us know how they turn out.
