She doesn't know what Femara is, wont send me for IR testing as it's still all 'theoretical' but puts me on Glucophage. hmmm. She also tells me to go to my general practicioner for my hormone blood tests. She also put up her price by 10 euro to now, ?150 for the pleasure of visiting with her less than 8 minutes and almost having to force her to listen to my questions and not shoo me out of her office.
I'll be scouting for a new doc soon!
Feel free to add your own doctor related vents.
Re: would you trust my doc?
No, I wouldn't trust her. I can't comment on the pricing, as I'm in Canada, so all appointments except IVF are covered by our provincial healthcare.
But the fact that she doesn't know about Femara and thinks IR testing is theoretical is very sketchy. I'm actually quite suprised as in general, much of Europe is rather progressive in comparison to North America when it comes to infertility treatments.
Is she an RE (or whatever the equivalent designation is in Ireland)? If not, I'd be looking for someone more qualified. Good luck.
