My kid "eats" hay on a regular basis, we cannot keep her away from the rabbit cage. I turn around 2 seconds and she's chewing on a piece of hay. She has also had some close calls with some rabbit droppings Reeeeally need to figure out how to baby proof that area.
My DD eats sand. She will shovel numerous handfuls in her mouth if I let her. When I hold her hands so she can't, she sticks her head in the sand and licks it...

It's really gross what they insist on putting their mouths on, or what goes IN their mouths. When I worked in a daycare, we had lots of sand eaters/lickers. She'll grow out of it!

LOL! Ewwwwwwww! I can only imagine what's going to happen once we play outside this summer (we have 4 dogs, I scoop the yard often, but still...).
P.S. love the pic in your siggy about bunnies being huge responsibilities. I hate when animals are given as gifts or bought because of holidays.

My parents have an aussie shepard and a border collie so they eat the fairly large pieced dog food... normally whenever they know DD will be over, they put the bowls outside, but i popped over unexpectedly one time. she high tailed her butt into the kitchen and shoved a few kibbles in her mouth so fast we couldn't even get to her quick enough. If they ate the smaller bits i wouldn't have been so concerned, but she just about choked! lets just say it was a lesson learned and i know for almost a fact that she'll put plenty more even grosser things in her mouth that we probably won't even know about. it's only dog food! lol

The choking hazard is my concern, too, we have two 70lb dogs and then 2 smaller, and they all eat the regular size food (though I really should get the smaller sized ones for the smaller dogs so it would help their teeth). Thankfully nothing bad has happened, I just need to be more careful!! Now that the little bugger is a little more mobile, he scooted his way over and took it out of my 10lb dog's bowl!

Our rabbit is a rescue and it breaks my heart seeing the flood of rabbits in the months following Easter. I love our bun, but she is definitely trouble! I think people figure they're easy because they will stay in a cage, but in reality rabbits really aren't supposed to be kept in cages. That's when they get mean.
Re: my FFFC - ew DS, ew.
Agreed, but still yucky
