FFFC

I have yet to introduce M to cutlery because I'm afraid of cleaning up the mess if he throws bowls/plates of food on the floor.

Re: FFFC

  • They make bowls with little suction cups on the bottom, that might slow him down.

You might be surprised, though.  Margaux gets stuff off her bowls and plates and onto her tray, but as far as forks and spoons go, she tries really hard to use them correctly.

Good to know. I bought a splat mat, but I'm still scared.

This. Adrian loves using his fork and spoon, he gets mad when I try to feed him b/c he wants to do it himself.

  • I let Sienna use her fork, which has shorter & rounder...what shall I call them...teeth? She shoves that fork full of food so far back in her mouth I'm afraid she's going to gag herself.  I totally supervise her eating her meals because I do not want to clean up a mess.

  • We have a spork set, too (That's the word you're looking for, Fiazo!).   He sometimes likes to stab the crap outta stuff.. .usually stuff that's not stab-able, like crackers.  He gets it with cheese and chunks of turkey or ham.

Since we STILL only tolerate purees, there's no way I'm turning him loose on that yet with his own utensils.
