We own one of pretty much every sippy cup on the market. DS hated them all; especially the ones with the soft spouts and valves.
In the end, we taught him to drink from a straw and he loves the Playtex Twist and Click cups. I love them in the summer, because it is a tumbler and doesn't sweat.
When he was about a year, my mom found a tupperware dealer who still sells the old school sippy cups; the hard plastic ones with the lids that we used when we were kids. DS loves them.

I love our born free ones! three reasons
1.) you can use born free nipples in them for an extra stage of transition
2.) all the parts are interchangeable including necks and handles
3.) BPA free and light weight all that jazz
