Re: FFFC :-)

  • It's funny - I'm seeing that some ladies think the BF post is evidence that people aren't free to express their opinions on this board without being judged/attacked.  Whereas, I see the BF post as evidence that people aren't actually free to express their opinions on this board without other people taking things way, way too personally.  I don't know why so many people think this place would be better if we all agreed on everything.  Snore-fest.

    Mine is truely the worst.

We haven't taken our Christmas lights down.  I put them up before I was pregnant and I am not keen on getting on a ladder now, so I keep reminding (nagging) DH and he keeps putting it off.

    It is so embarrasing.

Don't feel so bad - we just took ours down last weekend (and that was only because we had people over, otherwise they'd still be there)

Ours are still up. I told MH he has to take them down this weekend because we're finally having nice weather. We'll see if he does it. In our defense, it did just snow here like two weeks ago.

  • DH and I got take out from Cheesecake Factory last night.  Could have cared less about the actual meal, I just wanted the gosh darned cheesecake (and it was amazing).  I think I had a salad to go with it?  Don't really remember :)

If one more person tells me that I am going to have my hands full with girl drama.. someone's gonna get smacked.. I was a teenager once, I'm aware.

I don't care for judgmental people.. everyone is entitled to their own opinion and way of doing things..

Last night for dinner DH and I got fruit smoothies from Smoothie King.. afterwards I was still starving and got Wendy's chicken nuggets..

I like your eating style.  *high five*

Also, I don't buy into that "girl drama" line.  We're women, we know what it's like to be teenage girls.  Yeah, we're gonna tear our hair out at times, but that's with any kid.  We've totally got this.

  • I probably check my belly button three times a day. I am terrified of outies! I've thought about it, and if it comes to it, I will plug it with something and tape it down.

Oh, and I had four bowls of Honey Bunches of Oats yesterday morning. Yes, four. :)

  • My FFFC - I don't understand why so many people on here complain about not looking pregnant enough or not feeling the baby move yet. Do they not talk to their doctor or read anything about pregnancy? I feel like a lot of those complaints/questions can be solved by educating yourself. It's just peeves me to see the same thing posted over and over. I don't really open those posts anymore unless I am in a super snarky mood.

My BFF and her hubby are having some problems right now and every conversation we have is about how he is unreasonable. She wants a baby right now and he would prefer to wait another year or so. It's really starting to wear on me. I know she needs someone to talk to but when it's constant dumping it gets draining.

Ahhh...mine is an outtie already! I swear it popped out really early this time. I'm not even showing that much. Maybe because it was so recently an outtie. ;)

  • My confession - We had our first real bbq of the year for my birthday. My dad is a great cook. I ate a hot dog. And I enjoyed it thoroughly. I also ate a hamburger, fries, salads and two pieces of chocolate cream cheese pie. And drank a glass of lemonade and two glasses of rootbeer. Sugary, fattening...you name it. I pigged out and didn't feel bad about it at all...until later when I felt bad about the hot dog. LOL.

  • I'm terrified were not ready financially for the baby.  This wasn't planned, and in the "perfect" world now was not the ideal time to have a child. Of course, were really excited, but im secretly scared to death.

My husband HATES his job.  We moved recently because of a good job opportunity for me that we thought would allow him to stay home and raise the baby while I work.  The only way he makes through every awful day there is knowing he will be done in 5 months.

Well, the job isn't going great. Im not making the money I expected. Right now, I secretly know that he may not be able to stay home but I don't want to tell him yet. Im praying it somehow works out.

Every day I spend hours going over our finances and bills and trying to find a way to make it work.  I know it may work out, business is looking up at my place of employment, but im so scared and nothing is guaranteed.  I keep trying to start a little savings, but something always comes up that we need money for.

I need to tell him soon but I feel like Im letting everyone down :(  He is as supportive as can be and a great husband but hes going to be really sad.

We had a smaller fake christmas tree last year and we had it in a place where it wasn't in the way of anything. With that being said...... we just took it down last week.  I have been nagging DH about getting stuff done in the house before I get too huge and this was one was not on the top of the list.

  • I can't stand when women think they know more than their OB and pediatrician about medicine, childbirth, and children.  If you are going to challenge every recommendation that your doctor gives you-find a different doctor that you trust!

Doctors are not gods and getting a second opinion is sometimes a smart thing to do, but searching blogs and asking for input on facebook does not amount to researching and informing yourself regarding the safety of vaccinations.

    THIS. EXACTLY!

If we have a boy, I told DH to slap me if I ever act like one of "those" boy moms (mostly when they are older).

When he is 18 he is a man and out on his own.  He can cook his own meals and wash his own clothes.  Over mothering is not the cure!

DHs mom is crazy like this.  She invites him over to "spend" the night when he is in the area getting the car worked on and tries to woo him with "I"ll cook for you"!  Um...no.  He can sleep at home with his wife and she happens to know how to cook. I mean, he is less than an HOUR from home! Thankfully, DH wants no part in this.

    This.

I had to hear it last time, too.  I had my daughter smack in the middle of July of '07.  In Florida.  I guess everyone thought they ought to remind me about how miserable I'd be, despite the fact that I've lived in Florida my ENTIRE LIFE.  I think I know about Florida summers, and I knew I was going to be a hot mess.  Makes a lady want to smack some people.

I dealt with this with DD, too. (She was born in July) I live in Mississippi and it's extremely hot here in the summer. However, the heat didn't bother me any more than it does when I'm NOT pregnant. I really don't get what the big deal is? I mean, I work, live, and sleep in the AC.

My DD was also born in the middle of July of 2006. I don't mind the heat, it's the humidity that kills me. And, I don't have AC. But, having a healthy baby is alllll worth it!

Absolutely!  And besides, summer is my favorite season, so two summer b-days for my two summer kidlets are going to be a blast.

  • Sorry I'm late to the game as usual! Here's mine.  I was up sick all night and barely slept at all.  Ended up staying home from work today which I hate having to do.  Tonight we were supposed to go hang out with some friends and their daughter and go swimming at a hotel theyre staying at.  I told DH that he should just take DS (his stepson) and just go without me in a nice encouraging voice.  He said he didn't think he should leave me along.  I pushed a little more and he still refused.  So I finally had to just say, I need you to take him and get out of the house so I can have some quiet you guys are making me crazy.

I love them to death and I feel awful forcing them out.  But I think they will have fun and I just need some quiet and rest!

Also a lame one. It's Friday during lent so no meat for me.  And I am usually a hard @ss about not eating meat.  Well now that the boys have left I really think I might eat a cheeseburger.  It sounds amazing!

  • I went to Long John Silver's for lunch. I had the 3 piece chicken dinner and I even added a piece of chicken. It was delish! Oh and I didnt want to share my greasy little crispy bits with my DD.

On a side note, it was the dumbest place I could have chosen to go on a FRIDAY during LENT. I am not catholic so I can have whatever i want but over half the city population was at LJS today. It was a nightmare in the parking lot and in the dining room

I am the furthest thing from a rule breaker but I so did it! It was worth it.  Lets hope they don't notice one of the burgers from last night is missing. :)

Ooh I have one more, going off of the theme of making plans before things actually happen. When I go into labor, I want to deliver vaginally. Cool. BUT, if something happens and they have to do a c-section (you know, besides the doc just wanting to get it over and done with-I mean a legitimate reason), I'm perfectly comfortable with them needing to do that.

The more I watch documentaries and shows when the women become hysterical at the thought of a c-section, the more I'm all about whatever has to happen, happens. I don't know if this is even really a confession, now that I've read it.

This. I really don't want to have one, but understand that sometimes it is necessary.

It kind of bothers me when moms who already have kids laugh at first time moms for making plans, I mean didn't you have ideals of what you would do/not do when baby came?  I think it's important to know what you want to do.  I cannot express enough how I realize that flexibility is needed and you might not get what you want, and I'm prepared for that - but I think its better to go into a situation knowing the information and a having plan (then changing it, if need be) versus not not being prepared at all.

OMG THIS! I'm so sick and tired of women that I talk to who already have kids rolling their eyes and scoffing at me,or looking at me all crazy when I talk about the way I'd like to have MY baby. last I checked, it was my body and my kid, and YOU BROUGHT IT UP.

I plan to go natural, I plan to take hypnobirthing classes over the traditional breathing methods, and I plan to breast feed for at least a year. Now of course that may not all happen exactly as I would like, but at least I have a plan and I know what I want, dammit. I'm so tired of people thinking I'm a masochist because I dont want an epidural, or that I'm dumb for even thinking about doing it any other way but the way they think it should be done. I mean, I even had a co-worker practically screaming at me about how 'TRUST ME YOU WANT THE EPIDURAL! YOU WANT IT!!" I'm saying to her "OMG OK!" But I'm thinking "I'll say anything to get you out of my cubicle, psycho!"

I dunno...this kind of stuff has been going on since the beginning of this pregnancy. I'm finally putting my foot down and telling people, not-so-nicely anymore, that it's not your decision, and for all intents and purposes, back off.
