Too similar?

Our sons name is Dominick.

Is Donovan too similar?  I also like Deacon. I don't mean to stick to the D theme, I just like these names!

I do think Donovan is too similar, especially if they are ever called Dom and Don. I love Deacon though and don't think it is as close.

yes, I think they are too close. Personally, I would avoid any "D" name... but Dom and Don are way too much.

Yes, too close. Dom and Don at first made me think of the movie Dumb and Dumber. Even if you call them by their full name, The first syllable is way too close.

I like Declan but am not a fan of same starting letters

Exactly this, unless you want to establish that all of your future children will have D names. I'm personally am not a fan of same letter names, but this is coming from someone who will name all of her children a Biblical name and a Disney name.

I wouldn't use another D name, but that's just one of my personal naming quirks.  Both options are fine.

Unfortunately I do think they're too close, but I love both Dominic and Donovan.

They have the same amount of syllables plus the D sound, its too matchy for me. Love Deacon though and I think it fits great with Dominick.
