that's today right?
well mine is this... i get annoyed when people come on here and ask a question tha they could have easily googled.
there's a difference between asking a question that could've been answered with some research and asking if this is something that other people have experienced.
Re: UO thursday...
Im sure this is very unpopular, but im pretty sure I could actually rip my mothers head off and not feel too terribly bad about it at this moment.
I think we are the nicest board hands down. I've lurked on many of the other boards and we have been pretty drama free up to this point. No one calls anyone out in a separate post, there are no bullies, etc. I really enjoy you ladies.
I don't like when people call their unborn child by his/her name. For example "Look what we got for Tommy's room!" or "Jenny and I are going shopping today!" I don't know why, but it creeps me out....your child isn't born yet!!
*disclaimer: Totally random names and not calling anyone specific out!
I agree!
definitely agree on this one... one thing i have noticed is that we're all at the same stage of getting irritated fairly easily though lol
not with each other it seems but with those IRL...
lots of vents and stuff like that being posted lol
Me too. Except for the natural birth board. It is so nice and peaceful and supportive... I like it.
I do to. It gives my baby an identity and makes me feel more connected to her. She is still a person whether she has been born yet or not.
My UO: It's random. I can't stand when people type GD for Gestational Diabetes. I think it's because I initially think of it as slang for taking the Lord's name in vain, and that is a BIG NO NO in my house. I guess my mom and dad just ingrained into me that you NEVER say that. I know people aren't using it in that context, but it's still what I think of first. I'm trying to change that thinking.
I do not like it when people I kinda know stare at my belly. There was a meeting in my office yesterday. I wasn't in the meting but I knew most of the people there. No one knows I am pregnant. One guy saw me and stared at me. Why didn't he just come up and ask me? I thought it was obvious I am pregnant and not just extra fat. The staring made me feel like a whale. Either ask me or don't stare.
I'm sooo gonna get flamed for this.
Maybe it is because I am in Brazil (certain health risks change from country to country) but I (and everyone else I've spoken to about this, including docs) don't think there is anything wrong with eating sushi, tartare, all cheeses or cold cuts while pregnant.
I first read about the potential risks of eating them here on the bump and I was so shocked!
I avoid sugar, caffeine, and anything with preservatives, and I never drink alcohol or cola or any soft drinks, really. But I can eat a heap of sushi, an entire plate of carpaccio, and I could never give up my cheeses...
Me too! When my cousin was 4-5 years old she had a leash when we went to public places otherwise she's ran and gotten lost before and my aunt almost had a heart attack! Seriously, to each their own!
THIS!!!!
Totally agree.

i don't listen to any radio stations where i'd have to hear it all that often... thank god for satelitte radio...
but i hate lady gaga with a passion... i have maybe heard 2 songs of hers including this last one, born this way
and i'm sorry, you're blatantly ripping off madonna. just admit it... you're not original, you're a manufactured piece of crap no matter how many ridiculous outfits you wear.
i should make her a dress with my dirty clother diapers... see if she wears it.
Yes totally! I'm a Sirius snob. But my DH actually likes pop music so sometimes I have to oblige.
I'm so sure how well this will go over but I don't like when pregnant women (or really anyone in general) wear black from head to toe. I know it's slimming but it's also incredibly boring and makes me wonder if you are that worried about your weight (or if you just came from a funeral).
P.S. I am at work so this is a total post and run, sorry!

I feel this way about my mother almost weekly!
While I love pop music, if I have to hear another Lady Gaga OR Britney Spears song I'll scream. Both a lousy singers who use synthesizers to make it. I've seen Gaga as an opening act for NKOTB, and she's terrible.
My own, not a vent, but I like how this board isn't a popularity contest. I'm a regular on another board and there are certain groups that just seem to run the show. It's not because they've been on the longest; it's just like hs where someone likes them for some reason and the next thing you know they're sainted.
Just thought you might like to know that Obama just announced that the US (including Hawaii) is not expected to recieve any harmful amounts of radiation from Japan. Hopefully that helps keep people from freaking out!
PLEASE DO THIS!!!! LOL
I don't think we'll flame ya! I have had it a couple of times since being pregnant (it's a special occasion thing for us) and I'm having it again on my hubby's birthday. I just don't eat a lot of the raw stuff at one time, but I trust the source. So, I don't worry. I also still eat my steak medium rare and have had few rare ahi tuna salads.
I've seen other posts about woman confessing to the same thing. So you're not a lone.
Small world is right! You certainly got a long way away from College Station in N.J. I miss C.S. so bad I cant wait to go back, hopefully soon!

I agree... and I get really weirded out when people call our baby by the proposed name.
I totally agree. I think it's cute but I've always been anti doing it because it's so popular.
DH likes it though. I was almost not going to but decided the hell with it. We like it so why not. lol. I wanted to do a decal but was scared it wouldn't stick to our textured walls.

I don't get the stressing out over what to wear for a shower. Every time I see a post related to this, I can't help but roll my eyes.
And I don't get the overly decorated nurseries...wall decals, matchy matchy everything, etc. Really...what's the point?
Yes! Thank you ;-) lol
